DaKine Food House- Bamboo Restaurant-Kapa'au, Hawaii 2007

The Historic Bamboo Restaurant & Bar is a fantastic place to go for lunch or dinner. The Bamboo Restaurant is located on the Big Island of Hawi, up on the north side of the island in the Kohala district in the little town of Hawaii. Dinner entrees run from $9.95 to $20.00. On weekends, live music is an added extra bonus. Especially when you can catch great slack key musicians like John Keawe, who lives nearby and is also a Hoku award winner.

You just can not visit the Big Island of Hawaii and take an around the island tour without stopping by the Bamboo Restaurant. They also have a great gallery with lots of nice quality hand made Hawaiian style crafts like quilts, koa wood boxes, and fine art. Be sure to stop by.

Located in Hawi, Hawaii.

Kealakekua Bay Sunset-Big Island Hawaii-Sept 2007

Kealakekua Bay is a great place on the Big Island to visit. Kealakekua Bay offers naturally clean and pristine waters for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, or just to sit beside on a sunny day. The water here is normally crystal clear, and you can see lots of marine life almost any time you visit. There is a boat ramp where you can launch your kayak and go paddling. There is a concession stand and picnic pavillion with bathrooms at the end of the road going down.

Kealakekua Bay is located about 14 miles south of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island just off of Napoo'poo Rd . The drive down to the bay from the Mamalahoa Hwy turnoff has spectacular ocean views. There is a coffee company with tours available on the road as you drive down. There is also a small fine restaurant and the Painted Church is also close by as well. Be sure to visit the area south of Kailua -Kona known as Captain Cook/ Kealakekua Bay when you find yourself on the Big Island. You will not be sorry. Aloha.....................
